Ten Senses

Ten Senses Africa Ltd (TSA), was established in 2006, out of the need to protect Macadamia farmers in Kenya who struggled to get a decent price for their product from unscrupulous middlemen.

This was during a time where Integra Foundation (Slovakia) was actively involved in the promotion of corporate social responsibility among Kenyan SME’s with the Navigators EPTF.

Integra had worked in the area of fair trade in Europe for a number of years and the application of fair trade principals to the Kenyan Macadamia Industry seemed not only the right thing to do for the farmers but also an excellent business opportunity to link Kenyan macadamia to the growing fair trade markets in Europe and N. America.

Today, Ten Senses is working with nearly Ten thousand (10,000) small holder farmers around mount Kenya through through a robust out growers management software backed by block chain which helps with sourcing, traceabilty and direct sourcing and payment of product to farmers, thereby. Cutting out the middleman and passing the benefits to them instead.

Ten Senses Africa EPZ Ltd has come a long way since its inception from a small factory in Lukenya, in the Eastern part of Kenya to the present state-of-the-art facility at the Export Processing Zone located in the outskirts of the capital Nairobi. The modern, high -tech factory has an annual cracking capacity of 6,000mt and employs 300-450 staff.
